Randy Rogers To Release New Album

Local singer songwriter Randy Rogers has been very busy these past few years but found time to record a new album, his first in three years. Titled Hellbent, it’s scheduled for an April 26 release date. The title comes from the song Hell Bent on a Heartache, which is a Guy Clark song that he co-wrote with Chris and Morgane Stapleton. It appeared on Clark’s final album, My Favorite Picture of You. The first single from the album will be Crazy People, which goes to radio stations next month. Another track on the upcoming album, We Never Made It To Mexico, was premiered locally at Randy’s recent acoustic show at SeeKatz Opera House. As I mentioned earlier, Randy has been a blur of activity. He toured with pal Wade Bowen, contributed songs to a Pat Green tribute album, a Michael Martin Murphey tribute album and recorded a record with Robert Earl Keen using a secret name of Stryker Brothers. Randy plans on touring hard to promote the new CD and will kick the trek off at Floores Country Store on March 29. Tickets are on-sale now at You can pre-order the CD at

Dave Fenley Comes Home

Lufkin native Dave Fenley was once a regular on stages all over our city when he lived in nearby San Antonio. Then Dave moved to Nashville and started opening for acts like Dwight Yoakam and Miranda Lambert. He appeared on America’s Got Talent along with fellow country singer Marty Brown. In 2018 Dave appeared on the NBC show The Voice and was selected to be on Blake Shelton’s team. Fenley’s coming back to Texas this weekend for two shows at Billy’s Ice, starting Friday night with special guests Brent Michael Wood and Adam Hood. On Saturday night Dave’s guests will be Kayley Hill and Keith Paluso. Both shows start at 8pm and you can get more info plus tickets Billy’s Ice Facebook page.

Birthday Bash at Freiheit Country Store

This Saturday Freiheit Country Store will host the 3rd Annual Larry Martin Sweeney Birthday Bash featuring our very own Stewart Mann & Statesboro Revue. It’s Statesboro’s first show in town since they played a local show on New Year’s Eve. I checked in with Stewart to see what he’s been up to recently and learned that he was in a car accident last week in Seattle. He’s ok, just banged up and bruised, but admits he’s very lucky. “The EMS guy told me that if this had happened about 10 years ago, I’d be dead now,” explained Stewart, “because cars are safer now. God was definitely watching over me.” Mann did mention he’s planning to start recording a new album this spring, which is great news for all his many fans. The show on Saturday starts at 8pm and according to their Facebook page, it’s a free show.
